Working journalism groups
This year were officially inviting and facilitating working groups that wish to delve on 'short or long term investigative projects. Are you interested in writing and/or journalism? Taking interviews? Hunting for information? Re-imagining your environment? Then this is definitely something for you to check out. Check the excel in our bio. In this excel, you may add your name and preferred contact information next to a topic you find interesting to work on. We have already picked some topics according to people whom we can bring in contact with volunteers, or because we know there's an upcoming relevant event. But you can definitely propose a new topic to us, adding your contact next to it.
If you're not sure about a topic, or if you want to only suggest and not work on it contact us via email. The outcome of the research doesn't have to be published in the Jester, and there are no deadlines!
Email for questions and suggestions: thejester.wageningen@gmail.com

Will boys be boys?
A feminist approach to masculinity
Everyone has preconceived notions and beliefs about masculinity and femininity. We have picked them up simply by growing up in a certain environment with Often, people may find the concepts of masculinity and femininity difficult, or uncomfortable to talk about. Let’s come out and say that they do not have to be. Masculinity and femininity are not predefined – they are what we make of them! Join us for this event and let’s explore the concepts of masculinity and femininity together.
For this event we will come together to be curious about our own beliefs and behaviours, and to reflect on our preconceived notions. What does it mean to be masculine? How do we openly address and celebrate our identities? How can we become better at recognising toxic behaviour? Questions like these (and many more) will be explored through discussion, creative expression and playful activities.

ARTitectureWag
ARTitectureWag is a creative workshop inviting inhabitants of Wageningen to visualize and negotiate their ideal living environment. Using the Wageningen city plan as our playing field, participants crafted and described their needs and dreams.
We're planning to offer a continuation to this project. If you're interested, follow RUW Stichting through the Jester Instagram: @thejesterwageningen.
Bodies of Art
On March 5 & 7-10 2025, Wageningen hosted the Feminist Festival, an inspiring five-day event focusing on women empowerment.
RUW Foundation will also be present with the event Bodies of Art.
We are converting the reading tables at the ground floor of the bbltk to one big table for collaging, discussing and lego-ing. Our theme is the human body, with a focus on the reproductive system. We’re going to dive into the known, the unknown, the misconceptions, and above all, the beauty.
We’re going to come together on two separate moments to be creative with the material with the help of the facilitating artist (@dafni_petratou). All materials will be available on site. We invite you to leave your artwork with us for a while if you wish, so we can exhibit it in our art corner in the university (Aurora's corner) and publish a selection in the Jester newspaper. The activity is appropriate for all ages.

Shapeshifting-a multispecies creative series
The Jester/RUW and OtherWise are coming together for this four-part series! we will explore multispecies worlds through creative writing, art, map-making and more. in the month of March, every Tuesday-evening we are inviting you to explore a new perspective on your connection with the world around you

We will brush through various ecological timelines and create our own rituals. We will explore art-based forms of dismantling hegemonic discourses, more-than-human worldmaking and deepening our relationship with and as part of the natural world.
We invite you to shed our human skin to connect with the more-than-human, allow the edges of our being to become porous, imagine new worlds🪽🍃🪺

(click on poster to download)
We are happy to tell you that this spring RUW Foundation & The Jester are bringing back the famous Capita Selecta Course on Intersectional Feminisms!
This is a great chance to dive into topics or discussions like gender, sex, identities, decolonization, spirituality, queer ecologies & consent cultures in a safe space. It is the right place to learn and un-learn theories, concepts and practices.
It doesn't matter if you consider yourself a feminist warrior or you don't even distinguish between patriarchy and patriot. This course is open to everyone with an open and curious mind. It doesn't matter your background, we are here to learn together. Sign up (QR) for the whole course (you can get 2ECTS credits!) or just for a single session (or all the sessions you like!). Remember, you don't need to be a student. Bring your friends, neighbours & even your enemies.
